Maggie & Matthew - you super stars!

We are absolutely thrilled for Maggie and Matthew, who have just completed their tandem cycle from Lovechurch to Hengistbury Head this month! Read on to hear from them both…

We did it!  What an achievement by Maggie to cycle the 5 miles from church to her home on Hengitsbury Head.

That might not sound like much, but when you’re 88, blind, haven’t been on a bike for over 20 years and have limited mobility it’s pretty impressive in my book!

We would like to say a massive thank you ”thank you” to everyone who has supported this challenge with prayers, encouragement or generous donations.  Wonderful.  We would also like to personally thank Nicola and Kevin for being Maggie's “stabilisers” or “wings” throughout.  Glenys too for the wonderful celebration lunch.

We are delighted to say that the fundraising total is now just short of £4000 (inches. Gift Aid).  Amazing!

All money raised is being split equally between SPEAR Bournemouth and NCF Uganda.  In both cases providing invaluable opportunities to young people who need a leg up in life.  On behalf of both charities we would like to add our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you.

I hope that Maggie has inspired you to challenge yourself and make a difference too? 

She has certainly been an inspiration to me.
