Connect:SYA - in the spot light

We believe that life is better when it's lived in community. While gathering together on Sundays is a vital part of church life, some of the deepest friendships and greatest encouragement often happen throughout the week in our smaller gatherings.

That's why we launched Connect:Points, re-imaging the way we do community and making it a key focus of the church. To create unique spaces where people can build meaningful relationships, grow in faith whilst also having fun and sharing in common interests!

We want to shine a light on one of our Connect:SYA points, led by Issi, Sam and George. Here's what Issi had to say about the journey so far:

The SYA Social Connect has been such a rewarding thing to be part of this year. A huge amount of time, care, and effort has gone into building a space that feels like a welcoming and causal space where young adults can make deeper friendships, and just do life together.It's been amazing seeing the community naturally grow through beach walks, meals, coffee trips, activities, and events together. The Spring ball we hosted was such a special reflection of the community space this group is starting to form within the church. We've even had non-churchgoers, and people from other churches becoming part of the community too, which has been really encouraging to see. 

One of the most meaningful things has been watching people arrive not really knowing anyone and now having genuine friendships and support around them. Community plays such an important role in our walks with Jesus, and it's been an absolute joy to hold space for that to develop. Praying together, laughing together, and building real connection outside of Sunday services. Our channels have gained over 80 young adults now hungry for more.

We love seeing communities like this flourish across Lovechurch, especially for our young people! We're excited to see how God continues to grow this community in the months and years ahead.
